Tacoma City Marathon

COURSE

The loop course starts and finishes at Point Ruston, the Northwest's premier waterfront neighborhood. This picturesque entertainment and recreation hub is situated along Commencement Bay with panoramic views of the Puget Sound. Runners will enjoy a scenic, USATF-certified and Boston Qualifying course that passes through Point Defiance Park, with over 700 acres of beautiful gardens and old growth forests. After leaving the rolling hills in the park, runners will make their way back towards the Puget Sound with the Half Marathoners. The Marathon will continue down the waterfront with views of Mt. Rainier and the Puget Sound, This 6.5 mile out & back is flat and fast, making the second half really fast and as easy as it gets for a marathon! The Marathon turnaround is on Dock Street, If you're up for the challenge you can continue on to finish the ULTRA Marathon Distance with the addition of a 4.8 mile loop on the Tacoma Tide Flats.
